The Dinner Party

Neil Simon’s latest Broadway comedy/drama is about five
people who are invited to dine at a first class restaurant in Paris:
they do not know who the other guests will be or why they are invited.
Tossed together in a private dining room, they have a sneaking
suspicion that this unconventional party will change their lives
forever. Frequently hilarious and dangerously serious, this is
not one to miss.

Players presents
"You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"
a musical treat for audiences of all ages.
at Grafton High School
July 29, 30, 31 and August 5, 6, 7
There's a lesson for all of us in the life of Charlie
Brown, the fictional boy with the large, round head, and an imaginative
beagle named Snoopy. Despite his repeated failures, Charlie Brown
never gives up trying, and in the end, he finds that, while he may
not be a very good pitcher, he still has friends.
For many of us, Charles Schulz's Peanuts was an integral
part of childhood. Most
of us can probably name the nine characters from the comic strip
far more quickly than we could name the nine Supreme Court justices.
(Go ahead, try it!) But anyone that thinks that they've outgrown
the comic strip and thinks it was "just for kids" should
see Cedarburg Players' production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie
Brown."

Caught in the Net
a British farce by Ray Cooney
The story line:
In this sequel to “Run For Your Wife”, (performed
at Memories in March, 2004) we meet up again with John Smith,
the beleaguered taxi driver with two lives and two wives.
Secretly married to two women for 18 years, he has somehow
kept his families from colliding; they are still happily and
blissfully unaware of each other. But problems arise when
his teenage son and daughter - one from each marriage - meet
on the Internet and are determined to meet each other in person,
especially as they have so much in common - the same last
name, taxi-driver dad of the same age, etc! When it dawns
on John that they are about to meet, he plunges into hysteria
in order to keep them apart. This starts a web of lies and
deceit in which everyone becomes gloriously entangled. The
ever-spiraling situation gets increasingly out of hand as
John busts a gut to juggle with the truth. Everything that
can possibly go wrong goes berserk, and audiences will never
stop laughing! |
